At Artisan Piano Services, we’ve curated a series of lubrication and calibration services that can be offered during a standard tuning appointment. These services aren’t just add-ons—they’re essential maintenance tasks that enhance the playability, consistency, and longevity of the instrument.

Tools and Lubricants You'll Need

You’ll be using a combination of four primary lubricants:

• Protec CLP or Lube – For general internal friction points
  
• Teflon Powder – For keybeds and glide bolt contact points
  
• Super Lube – For pedal rods and trapwork
  
• McLube – For key pin lubrication (note: highly odorous; use outdoors if possible)
  

Applicators include hypo bottles and spare high-treble keys (note #88 works great) for precise and clean application on jack and knuckle felts.
